This property is an 1820 Regency house lying within a Conservation Area. Mike Lapworth has been associated with this property in its current form for many previous phases of development leading to the current project.
Mike Lapworth first visited the property in the 1990s when it was still within its original extensive plot.
The accommodation included a large late Victorian coach yard and stables,1950s garaging directly off back of pavement and the original Regency house which included a large 1920s extension fronting Frederick Rd. The house had been owned by the same family for decades with one family member living in a small part of the house whilst the remainder part was used as bedsits.
The Stable block was sold to another family who converted it into a separate dwelling and Mike Lapworth was commissioned to design two separate extensions to the Coach house for its new owners in order to improve the accommodation.
Around the same time the semi derelict main house was also sold to new owners and Mike Lapworth was commissioned to obtain consent to restore the house and adjust the accommodation to return it to a fine Regency period property.
This work was undertaken by the current owner and it is now a family home. Mike Lapworth and his team have now been commissioned to add a new contemporary Conservatory to the rear elevation overlooking the rear garden and options are being considered to add a gym, hot tub, sauna and indoor swimming pool.
