Full Restoration and Refurbishment of a Cotswold Country House, a new extension and rebuilding outbuildings and a former cowshed to provide living accommodation

Lying within a Cotswold Village Conservation Area, this Grade II Listed property dates back over many centuries with the earliest part of the building dating back to the 15th Century.

Over its long history the building had been two separate houses and was progressively linked together to create a house and barn set around a courtyard.

Mike Lapworth’s first involvement with the property was when it was purchased in 2007 and it was in poor condition. After obtaining planning and listed building consent to combine the former barn as part of the house around the central courtyard the whole house was fully repaired and refurbished. This involved part rebuilding and reorganisation to create a splendid large home. The work included external works and landscaping.

The house was sold in 2016 and Mike Lapworth was retained by the new owners to oversee new building projects they are planning to undertake and to assist with ongoing maintenance.
